“Power in the Name of Jesus”

As we come into a season that is to celebrate and honor the birth of our Savior.  I pause on that one word, "Savior," and the true name associated with that word.....Jesus.  The name of Jesus has so many powerful meanings to what He is.  Look at the "Jesus" header above to see a few listed.  Take a few minutes to read through them and find the one that resides with you right now.  I love them all but want to highlight two that stand out for me today.

"Deliverer" - In my line of work, I see daily some of the horrible effects of drug addiction, women who have been physically abused, and some living in an overall consuming mental state of hopelessness in no answer to their pain from their past and present situation.  The Good News is, Jesus came to deliver the promise of God, Jesus Himself as the Savior, and deliver in each meaning that depicts His own name.  Add the one you chose here____________. Now, think on that name you chose, and study what that name means.  Ultimately, I’m sure it’s in relation to a need now or a personal understanding of the need He has met your past and present.  Think on that name today.

The second pick is "Son of God" - Jesus is Jesus because of being with God and taught by God, our Heavenly Father.  God sent His "best" to teach all of us firsthand the awesome effect God's love can have when we believe to follow His way of living and loving others through Christ example.  When we say "God is good," He sure is!  Because He gave us, His beloved Son, " with him, I am well pleased."(Matthew 3:17 ) Not a second runner-up teacher, but the best that He Loved so much.  We can all learn a lot from the best God gave us.  “Jesus”.

"Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and

gave him the name that is above every name"
